Ella has been participating in a Pom and Cheer class after school for the last 10 weeks. She recently had her graduation and they did a performance for the parents on the last day of class.
Here they are ready to go!
Cheer time!
Getting their completion certificates!
Posing for the camera!!
The entire class posing with their certificates :)
Ryen wanted to get on stage for a photo too! She always wants to be like her big Sister!
I can't believe the school year went by so fast. We are so proud of our girl and all she learned socially and academically this year. We are so hopeful she will continue to make big strides and are looking forward to her new school and her starting the CTA program.
We ended the year with a Kindergarten graduation ceremony.
The kids sang a few adorable songs like "You Got a Friend in Me" and "I have Big Dreams"
Then they were called up to get their Kindergarten diplomas. Here is Ella's entire Kindergarten class. 2012 Mrs. Hughes :)
My dimple faced girl. She looks SO much Jimmy's Mom in this photo.
After the show we went back to the classroom for some treats and so the kids could say goodbye to each other. Here is Ella and her friend Ryan.
This was waiting for us on Ella's desk. A cute class photo but also a DVD of photos from the entire year of Kindergarten set to cute background music. Totally was not expecting that and I LOVED it!! :) What a great surprise!
My girl was so excited about her diploma, but was also so excited to give Mrs. Hughes her end of year gift.
We are so proud of her :)
Afterwards we let her pick where she wanted to have lunch and she chose The Olive Garden. So the three of us headed to lunch. Ryen would have loved to come but she was busy at school practicing for her own graduation ceremony that was happening later that night :) Congratulations baby! You had a great year and we are very excited and happy for you.
Yay! It is here! The very first one. The first of many I will cherish and keep until she is old enough to take them off my hands. Her first official class photo. May I introduce you to...
Mrs. Hughes Kindergarten Class Santan Elementary 2011-2012 School year
With the close of the school year coming (already!!) I wanted to take time to post some of these cute pics I have found on my phone.
Field Trip to the Farm
Spirit Week Pics!
Lunchroom pics with our friends :)
I just love these kiddos. In fact, this post reminds me it has been too long since I have had lunch with my baby at school! I think tomorrow is the perfect time to change that :)
Ok so two photos to share (and capture forever on this blog) One is my baby's FIRST ever report she had to do for school. She had to write a report on a community helper. She chose Veterinarian cause that is what she wants to be when she grows up! *how cute. The other is an incredible drawing she did.
Here she is beaming with pride at her poster we made. She had to get up in front of the class and present it. She practiced over and over with me and Daddy and got some helpful tips about not being shy, looking at her audience, not fidgeting and speaking up.
The picture to the right of it, is this amazing drawing she did, that Jimmy and I just came across one day on her desk. She drew herself in a salon chair getting a hair cut by her hairdresser. But what shocked us about it was the attention to detail she showed when creating it. She actually drew a mirror in front of herself and replicated her drawing in the mirror detail for detail. Complete with the falling hair. It was really impressive and we are not sure where she even got the idea since her hairdresser works out of her home and she has never had her hair cut in a salon chair like that. How cool is she!? I just love this kid's creative side.
Yes this blog post title is being sung to the Kool and The Gang classic "Celebration". We make a big deal about school stuff around here. From the simple (Ryen coloring in the lines or really tracing her letters instead of just scribbling) to simple for some kids (not getting in trouble at school) to the BIG DEALS (Ella getting a GREAT report card for 2nd Quarter). They don't do report cards in 1st Quarter for Kindergarten so this was her first one. And since we had a rocky start to the school year we were excited to hear what would happen. But as I mentioned in a previous post Ella's report card was exactly what we were hoping to hear. Academically she was excellent and behaviorally she got no bad marks! Yippeee! We are never worried academically but the behavior one was a big relief. So we celebrated!!!
We took her to her favorite restaurant, The Rainforest Cafe!
We even requested a booth with the built in aquarium so they could watch the fishies while they ate.
We had a great time as usual.
But this time, we didn't say no, when Ella asked for the $15 volcano dessert. We thought she earned it. And for a special occasion, why not? This thing was huge! The kids were stoked and even with 3 of us eating it (Daddy didn't want any) we didn't even make a dent in it! Gluttony and waste at it's finest. :/
After we played in the gift shop and threw pennies at the crocodile.
Hopefully third quarter marks will be just as good and Ella has truly turned a corner maturity wise and has figured things out. Either way, we will always celebrate like rockstars! :)
